Project 366: Week 2

Here I sit reflecting back on this past week with hot coffee on one side of me and my breakfast of one egg and a piece of dry wheat toast on the other. It was our first FULL week back to school and work and what a crazy week it was! Monday I thought it was Tuesday. Tuesday I thought it was Wednesday...and so on. You get the point. It was never ending! Now my house is a mess, the laundry is piled, and the boys are playing nicely one minute and fighting like cats and dogs the next.....There is no end to this madness. That's okay though, this is our life, and it certainly won't stop me from taking 15 minutes of quiet time to myself to post this weeks pictures.
Day 7/366: I call this my pyramid of success. Yes, I'm like everyone else starting a new year and trying to lose a little bit of weight. My goal was 20lbs and everyone gawked at my idea so we'll start with 12 or 15 and go from there. I've joined Weight Watchers and started going back to the gym. So far in my week and a half of this new "lifestyle" I've lost 1.2lbs. Not a ton but I'll go with it.

Day 8/366: Chocolate covered bananas. Yum! E and I loved these....Not so much anyone else though. That's okay. It just meant more for us.

Day 9/366: I walked into the kitchen to find this. I'll assume that one of the crazy young males in my house changed their mind and thought they should be nice enough to put it back for the next person. **That crazy young male being E.

Day 10/366: The sunset we were lucky enough to view while sitting out in the cold waiting on our ribs to be finished.

Day 11/366: We did it!!! And the website made it official. We traded in our smaller camper for one that is a bit bigger and a little nicer. I think after realizing how much we used it last year we knew that a bigger camper was in order. So excited, we get to pick it up today!

Day 12/366: I so meant to take a picture of K on this day. He was born on the 12th so I thought I would take a picture of him on the 12th of every month to see how he's grown throughout the year. Totally forgot. Instead here sits my ZERO point Weight Watchers soup. It was delish! Even Aaron liked it. We also got to use some of our frozen veggies from our garden last spring.

Day 13/366: The sunrise outside my work. I get there at the crack of dawn every morning. One of my favorite parts of my work day is watching how the sunrise reflects on all the windows of the building.

Day 14/366: POPCORN WORDS! This is something new to me. Each week K will have popcorn words that he is expected to know how to read to move on to the 1st grade. What happened to circle time and stuff in Kindergarten? I've written the words down and have taped them to his door. So far so good. I was really impressed this morning with how he did on them.

Well I guess my quiet time is over. I've got one child (E) that is jumping from the coffee table to the sofa, repeat, repeat, repeat and the other one (K) convinced that he wants to go play outside in the 20 degree weather.....

  1. Looks like you had a pretty good week. I don't know about you, but I'm totally riveted...I mean revolted by all the political adz.

  2. Jess, it sounds like a pretty good life! You and A. have made a wonderful home for you and the boys! Savor all of these little moments because it al goes by so fast. I know you have heard this over and over, but when you are looking back at it years from now, you will see. I am glad that you got the larger camper...it will maybe enable you to explore further out...My trips across country from SC to CA were some of my best memories! This country is so big and filled with wonderful things...you don't have to go abroad....have fun with the new camper, and I hope we see you soon! Much love! Linda

  3. Congrats on the new camper! Do y'all ever have frozen chocolate-covered bananas in the summer? They are really good, too.

  4. Woohoo for the new bigger camper. 1 1/2 pounds a week would be over 70 pounds in a year! That is a great start!
