Where does the time go!?

It's hard to believe it's been two weeks since I've actually sat down, turned my computer on, and posted anything...Not just posted a blog post....gotten on the computer for ANYTHING! How spoiled we get when all can be done from a simple hand held device like an iPhone.
When I took on the 366 day challenge at the beginning of the year committing to taking a picture every single day of the year I guess I never realized how many pictures in a day I actually take. Taking the photo is not the problem! Finding time to post them is. In the past two weeks I've been away we've managed to rid our house of 2 truck loads of junk, have a pretty successful yard sale, build a coop for our beloved hens, tend to our garden, go to work & school & fundraiser events and take an upwards of 200 pictures! Yes, 200! So here it is, scaled down to a simple 15 pictures that help sum up our past two weeks... In no particular order:
Breakfast with Mom at school.
My sweet baby E.
Our chicken coop we built for the girls.
Are you ready for some football!?!?
Our first harvest from the 2012 garden! Radish anyone!?
Playing catch!
You are never too old to play in the rain! We all do it!! :)
Splish splash...or body board!
and I leave the post with a few kisses from Aaron & the chick chick until next week!!

Week 15 and a very happy birthday to the oldest kiddo!!

This week has been all about the K-meister! Six! It is so hard to believe he is six! We kept the whole party idea pretty quiet this year and decided to head over to a friends house for a cook out, cake and presents. The dude made out like a bandit! Bike, roller blades, money, new wallet, Wii games, DS games, a GA jersey that he hasn't taken off in 3 days now....I think I'm going to have to sneak it off to wash it in his sleep.
This is how his birthday morning started:
and this is how it ended:
Two cakes! Yes, one to take to school which is seen above and then the other for dinner.
Presents!!
No, we're not crazy! He didn't get drums for his birthday. He did enjoy playing them though! From the looks of this picture he seems like a natural.
And that's it! Another year done...another year older. It's crazy how fast time flies.
In other news we've settled in quite nicely from our camping trip. The dogs, kids, and of course us adults were all exhausted! We've enjoyed somewhat of an unproductive week.
That picture in the middle of E is a new fun app I've found on my iPhone. When I need a good laugh I just pull that picture up.
And of course, lets not forget the chickens, as they do feel like they rule the roost!
These little girls are getting bigger and bigger everyday! You can see in that bottom picture that little BBQ is about ready to fly the coop.....So with that being said-it's pretty obvious what we'll be doing this weekend. Yep, building them their new coop for outside. We are going to attempt to build them something called a chicken tractor. Wish us luck! I'm sure I'll be back with pictures and hopefully no stories of loss of fingers in the process.

Easter/Dreher Island 2012

We headed out for our first trip of 2012! It was also our first trip in our new camper. Excitement was an understatement!!
(and yes, I did eventually end up falling....and totally busting up my leg.)
The weather was chiiiiillllly in the mornings!!!
and perfectly warm in the afternoons!!!

The Easter Bunny even came to visit while we were there. One really cool thing is not only did he leave the Easter Baskets but then the campground put on an Easter egg hunt that all the kids enjoyed!
We also went ahead and gave K one of his birthday presents. This was too perfect of a location not too.
Overall this was a PERFECT trip other than the fact that it was far too short! It was a great start to our camping season. We can't wait to go again!!

Friday Phone Dump on....a Sunday

Here are my pictures for week 11 of the year:
1. After staring at that yummy jelly donut I decided to not give into temptation.
2.These two doggies have become best friends. I didn't realize how brown Bear actually is until I saw him up against Boo.
3. A not so happy Bear.
4. Baby toes! And no, the dog and kid did not bathe together.
5. I've started printing all my photos from my phone. There is an awesome free app called Postal Pix. You just upload your photos and they mail them out.
6. We are officially done with training wheels for Keagan. He has become quite a pro. He's going to be more than excited for the big boy bike he's getting in a few weeks for his birthday.
7. Cheese! This is where this child is most happy. Loves his baths.
8. Whoa! I've not seen his face this naked in almost EIGHT years. He walked out and said, "Surprise!"
9. Little dude watering our banana tree. You can tell the warm weather is here! Our tree is growing like a weed.
10. Our compost. I'm shocked at how well our compost has turned out. It's so amazing to me how this was once food.
11. The boys' Easter baskets that I ordered. Love them!!
12. My new Smash Journal. I can't wait to get started. It's the perfect place for all the iPhone pictures I've printed!

That's a wrap for week 11. I'm sitting here enjoying my coffee and quiet time before the boys wake up. Poor Aaron is working both Saturday and Sunday this week and probably next Saturday too. I'm so grateful to have a hardworking husband....But even hard workers need a break!

It's a Friday Phone Dump!!!

Just in case it's not obvious for the week....I am loving my new phone! I love love to take pictures on it! It's also been a pretty good week for pictures anyways. The weather has been wonderful. Spring is without a doubt on it's way. The week has been full of working in the garden, going for long walks with the dogs, and finding really fresh fruit at the market. Another really great event that happened was K was elected as the Kid of Character in his class for trustworthiness. Way to go Mr. K-man! If there was ever a wonderful trait to have, trustworthiness would be it!
Our new puppy, Bear, is still adjusting to the life of potty training but he is doing so well otherwise! He's a sweet boy and gets along so well with Boodro and the boys. At this point he isn't one for walks but prefers to ride in the back of the stroller. Sooooo cute but not sure how that will be manageable once he gets full grown.
I got another kick start on my working out. I went to the gym every day this week and feel great! I have less than a month before our first camping trip of the season (yay!) and must get rid of some of this winter weight before then! I guess that's a wrap for week 10. I can't believe we're already 11 weeks into 2012. Where is it going!?!

I am also ashamed to admit that I TOTALLY forgot we were going to donate cans to a food drive/shelter this week. That's how busy life gets yet that is never an excuse! I know it's never to late to donate and that is still a very important plan of mine. Maybe we'll go pick them up this weekend!

Project 366: week 9

Well there is good news.....and bad news....

The good news is, I got a new phone!! Yippie! I've only had my Droid for 8 months and while it was a good phone I was really just ready to get back to Apple. I got the new 4S today and all I can say is, I love it!
The bad news: Well all my pictures I took on a certain app with my droid for the 366 project for this week have been lost. :( Bummer. I had some that I really liked. That's okay though. I'll keep going from this point forward using my the most famous app out there, Instagram. Speaking of, you can find me @GardenGirl81.
With that being said....Here is my one and only picture for this weeks 366 project and for InstaFriday. I LOVE this print!
So cute!! The weeks been good but I have no doubt that next week will be even better. It's getting to be that time of year again where we can plant some of our "not so picky" plants like sugar snap peas, onions, and beets into the garden. The not so little one's birthday is only a month away so planning for that has begun and all our camping trips are in sight. I'm ready!!
This week coming up will be full of meaningful fun. I've committed to getting involved in the #instafooddrive and bringing my family along for the ride. For more information, see below!
